This was the very first official release, being released on the 22nd of March 1963 (MONO version) and later on the 26th of April 1963 (STEREO version). The Lp reached number one in; Disc Weekly, Melody Maker, New Musical Express and The Record Retailer in the UK. Only to be knocked off by their next album With The Beatles.
Amazingly the songs, which were taken from their first two singles and included a further ten songs, were all recorded in one marathon session at Abbey Road Studios. John wasn't feeling too well and got throught the 3 sessions in the one day by having milk, tea and Zubes lozenges....

VG-. Gorgeous, heavy vinyl....She does carry light needle marks-After playing the whole record through, I found: NO SKIPS OR JUMPS!!.
The album blasts out raw early Beatles with some occasional background noise in the quieter sections and run-ins, but when the songs get going this fades away-TURN HER UP!
The Beatles in all their original glory.
FLAT, HEAVY AND ALL ORIGINAL!
Labels: VG. There is a small amount of central hole wear as seen in the pictures. With light spindle marks.
Other than that the labels stand out nice and clean, with no writing or rips.
CORRECT 4th PRESS
These labels are getting harder to find as only a relatively small amount were pressed....
ONLY 25,000 ever pressed
Outer rim text starts with "The Parlophone Co.Ltd"
NO "Sold in UK..." but with "Recording first published" stated under the printed matrix number.
Inner: G. It is the ORIGINAL USE EMITEX Poly-lined inner....She carries light creasing as well as split to the right side as well as the catalogue number written to one side.
VERY EARLY TOO AS IT CARRIES THE "PATENTS APPLIED FOR" TEXT

Cover: G(+). It has been to a few parties-but still loved.
Made of strong card
There is some spidering to the front laminate with the edges and corners being rubbed and knocked.
The opening has a repaired tear
SUPER STRONG SPINE-with title still legible.
FAR FROM TRASHED-BUT EQUALLY FAR FROM MINT!
LARGE MONO
ALL IN ALL THIS IS AN INCREASINGLY RARER 4TH PRESSING OF AN ICONIC ALBUM...WOULD DEFINITELY MAKE A VERY GOOD FILLER.
