THE BEACH BOYS: Surfin´ Safari / Luau (´62 / extremely rare 1st German issue / ARIOLA 45441 A / red label / this 7" is unknown to many collectors, but it´s of almost "legendary" status to all those, who are aware of the record´s existence: this is the first-ever German Beach Boys´ 7", which was released shortly before the Beach Boys were signed to Capitol Records! (on the 2nd issue by Capitol Records the original B-side, "Luau", had been replaced by "409" - so "Luau" was only ever released as a single on this Ariola recording) / as this 7" had been licensed from the small US label, "Candix / X Records"*, consequently Ariola did also lose their rights to issue the record in Germany, when the rights went from X Records/Candix Records to Capitol Records in the USA, and according to that the number of items, that were originally pressed, is a really low one (without having any further informations I presume, that the number must surely have been much less than 1.000 items, more likely is a number of just a few hundred records - just keep in mind, that The Beach Boys were still completely unknown at the time!...) / *short "background info" about the US issue: in the USA there were two early pressings, on "Candix" as well as on "X Records" - as you may have guessed, "Candix" and "X" are the very same label, which operated under these two names - the German Ariola pressing is only referring to "X Records"! / in recent years even the later Capitol pressing has become a rare and sought-after item, but this Ariola pressing isn´t only the "crown jewel" for all collectors of German Beach Boys´ singles, but one of their rarest 45s worldwide! / with Ariola company sleeve - but I presume, that the sleeve is a repro - but please keep in mind, that an original company sleeve is only worth a fraction of the record´s value!)

DESCRIPTION:
the vinyl has a lot of small fine surface scratches, but there aren´t too many deeper scratches and the sound quality is somewhat better than the visual appearance of the record (visual grading: G / playing condition: close to straight VG)die Platte hat viele kleine Oberflächenkratzer, aber es gibt nur wenige "richtige" tiefere Kratzer, so dass die Sound-Qualität um einiges besser ist als der visuelle Eindruck (optisch: G / akustisch: annähernd VG)
