You are buying the AUTHENTIC 2011 Out-of-Print "Smile Sessions" on180g virgin vinyl. Original US Pressing, not Japan, and NOT the 2025 counterfeit.
AGAIN, THIS IS NOT THE 2025 RELEASE, which shows up "Brand New" and "Sealed" on eBay and elsewhere for about $50-$100, and is a counterfeit pressing. What are the giveaways?
First, if the 2025 release was authentic, authorized and non-counterfeit, it would be sold on the Universal Music website and the Beach Boys website. It is not.
Second, the 2011 authentic release was issued with a heavy paper overlay which completely covered the back and wrapped over the top to the upper part of the front cover. It has the full track listing AND THE BAR CODE. When the overlay wrap is removed, the authentic 2011 back cover shows NO BARCODE. The 2025 counterfeit issue has no paper overlay; the bar code is imprinted directly onto the back cover. Sorry, but if you have this set with the bar code directly printed on the back cover, you have the 2025 counterfeit. That's why the 2025 counterfeit sells for as low as $45, and the original 2011 authentic sold for $200+ BEFORE the counterfeit came out, and still sells for $150+.
This sale is for the authentic 2011 original pressing; there is NO BAR CODE on the back cover. There are several inclusions missing, and several defects, which accounts for the low price.
Vinyl is VG, with several long, unfeelable marks and some faint hairlines, great gloss.
Cover is VG, with some moisture spotting and discoloration at bottom front and back, and a couple tears inside gatefold. It is missing the original overlay wrap, and it is missing the booklet. See photos.
