Important General Information
This and upcoming auctions of vintage LPs, EPs and select 45s are a continuation of my earlier offerings of 2001. Most of the pieces are from my personal collection of over 45 years of accumulation. The music genres are largely rock, psych, garage, blues and progressive material. Some albums retain their original shrink wrap. Most contain any and all inserts that were used in packaging and have their original inner sleeves.
The material is graded conservatively using Jerry Osborn’s grading criteria, with one exception. I play grade each piece ( except 45s ) in addition to visually grading the items under proper lighting. Each album offered has been converted to digital format and put into my library. That is why I’ve play graded each one. I use high end audio equipment while doing the conversions. The amplifier is a Nakamichi Receiver 3, the turntable is a Denon DP-45F and the cartridge used is a Audiotecnica Dual Moving Magnetic unit. It tracks at .75 grams of pressure to the vinyl.

COMMENTS:
The Beach Boys are an American rock band. Formed in 1961, the group gained popularity for its close vocal harmonies and lyrics reflecting a California youth culture of cars and surfing. Brian Wilson's growing creative ambitions later transformed them into a more artistically innovative group that earned critical praise and influenced many later musicians. The group initially comprised singer-musician-composer Brian Wilson, his brothers, Carl and Dennis, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. This core quintet, along with early member David Marks and later bandmate Bruce Johnston, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 1988. The Beach Boys have often been called "America's Band", and Allmusic.com has stated that "the band's unerring ability... made them America's first, best rock band." The group has had thirty-six U.S. Top 40 hits (the most of any U.S. rock band) and fifty-six Hot 100 hits, including four number one singles. Rolling Stone magazine listed The Beach Boys as one of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. According to Billboard, in terms of singles and album sales, The Beach Boys are the No. 1 selling American band of all time.
Pet Sounds is a 1966 album recorded by American pop group The Beach Boys. The group's eleventh studio album, it has been widely ranked as one of the most influential records ever released in western pop music and has been ranked at number #1 in several music magazines' lists of greatest albums of all time, including New Musical Express, The Times, Mojo Magazine, and Pure Pop's lists. It was number #2 in Rolling Stone Magazine's list. According to Acclaimedmusic.net, Pet Sounds is the most acclaimed album of all time by music journalists. Pet Sounds was created several months after Brian Wilson had quit touring with the band in order to focus his attention on writing and recording. In it, he wove elaborate layers of vocal harmonies, coupled with sound effects and unconventional instruments such as bicycle bells, buzzing organs, harpsichords, flutes, the Electro-Theremin, and dog whistles, along with the more usual keyboards and guitars. Although not a big seller for the band originally, Pet Sounds has been influential since the day it was released. Rapturously received in Britain, it was lauded in the music press and championed by many top pop stars. The Beatles, for example, have said that Pet Sounds was a major influence on their album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Paul McCartney has repeatedly named it as one of his favorite albums (with "God Only Knows" as his favorite song) — completing a circle begun by The Beatles' influence on Wilson.
CONDITION:
Still fresh in its factory shrink-wrap, this cover even smells new inside! Only a bb hole on the upper right corner disturbs the otherwise perfect cover. The disk is consistent with the cover and offers a very clean, noise-free playback. Negligible spindle wear with a high degree of lustre. Simply excellent. NM+/NM-
