Description

BBC Transcription 3 LP set 76th Season Promenade Concerts 3 and 4

The Transcription Service numbering of the concerts as 3 and 4 bear no relation to the order the actual concerts were performed.
The English Chamber Orchestra concert was broadcast on 19th August 1970 and is only part of that concert
and the BBC Symphony Orchestra Concert was broadcast on 25th August 1970 and is only part of the actual concert
Each concert lasts for just short of an hour spread over 3 sides of the LPs.
1970-08-19 English Chamber Orchestra - Reymond Leppard - Suite in F The Water Music Handel  side 1 of 2
1970-08-19 English Chamber Orchestra - Reymond Leppard - Suite in F The Water Music Handel  side 2 of 2
1970-08-19 English Chamber Orchestra - Reymond Leppard - Brandenburg Concerto No 5 (Bach) side 3 of 3 1970-08-25 (3) BBC Symphony Orchestra - Edo de Waart - Dvorak side 1 of 3
1970-08-25 (3) BBC Symphony Orchestra - Edo de Waart - Symphony No 8 in F major (Beethoven) 2 of 3
1970-08-25 (3) BBC Symphony Orchestra - Edo de Waart - Symphony No 8 in F major (Beethoven) 3 of 3
It is extremely rare to get the complete set of records for 2 complete concerts.

There are no continuity sheets

These LP's were sent to radio stations all over the world. For a fee they would be able to broadcast the programmes on the LP a number of times over a period of about 3 years denoted by the expiry date. The LP was then supposed to be destroyed or returned to the BBC in London. A number of studio / station managers or DJ's must have decided the LP's were too good to throw away!  The BBC Transcription Service boast that they supply upwards of 200 Radio stations so the print run of these LP's is probably in that order. As many Radio Stations dutifully did as the BBC asked few of these LP's survived.

THE small print: Please read - -

If you buy more than one LP and the combined value is less than £50 then wait for an invoice as it costs the same to post two as one . However if the value is £50 or greater the cost is nearly twice that which I have shown so there is little room for a saving. This is because the Post Office compensation is only up to £50 on 'signed for' and for compensation above £50 parcels have to be sent by special 'next day' delivery.

If you buy the record 'by mistake' or simply to record the tracks and no longer want it then sell it on eBay yourself, give it to a charity shop but don't ask to return it.  You will be listed as a 'time waster'.

If the item is not as described you will, of course get a full refund.
If the item arrives damaged I refund the cost AFTER a photograph is emailed, via eBay messaging, showing the damage (there are instances when a buyer says an item is damaged when, in reality, it arrived safely, to fraudulently obtain a refund)

Should you have any questions about the item please ask. I don't mind providing additional pictures or information if required.

Thanks for looking
