BATTLEAXE: Burn this Town LP

Battleaxe: Burn This Town
Some truly amazing New wave of heavy metal from Newcastle England. What first attracted me to this melodic, yet heavy record was the amazing cover art. If you dig the likes of Holocaust, and maybe early Manowar or Anthrax(fistful era)you'll be blown away by this obscure gem. The production is great, the music is catchy in that Holocaust metal way and the vocals do what they need to do. Not many high pitched screaming here. Check out the last song, "hands off". Total Tygers Of Pan Tang meets Ted Nugent!

Just to look at the front cover you'll find out that this record is something special. Battleaxe has their own unique sound and deliver high quality songs in best class.
Burn This Town is raw and powerful. Burn This Town is heavy and full of energy. The singer in battleaxe has a great voice which fits in. There is nothing more to say, this record is absolute flawless.

--------------------------------------------------------------

These guys had a very clear idea about the kind of music they wanted to play, and they certainly stuck to their guns. Or rather, their battle axe.

Battleaxe are one of those bands whose songs just scream "80's" at every note. This shows clearly on their début album, Burn This Town, which sports a good number of fast, catchy riffs, reminiscent of the early Saxon albums, rasping hard rock vocals and some truly excellent drum lines, all evenly distributed over ten tracks. One of the strongest points of this album is probably the fact that it never ceases to be interesting throughout its length, in spite of there being very little variation between each song: the relatively short average track length (roughly 3:30) and a finely balanced mix of heaviness and upbeat atmosphere more than make up for the lack of change in mood, tempo and attitude. The production is remarkable considering the year of release: every instrument is easily identifiable, and the guitar somehow manages to never overpower the vocals.
Much like Rock/Metal monsters as AC/DC and Motorhead they never allowed themselves to get sidetracked a little, simply plunging straight down their set path into a steaming cauldron of red hot Heavy Metal.
In conclusion, Burn This Town did not add anything new to the already flourishing 80's metal scene, but it definitely succeeded at offering an excellent specimen of pure, untamed Heavy Metal, that is sure to delight the ears of any fan of the 80's British Metal scene.

Break down of P&P costs:

1) Postage

2) packaging

3) Money to go to the post office and return from the post office.(Sometimes, this actually costs more than postage).

Therefore: dispatching an item costs more than what the postage label indicates. Please keep that in mind.

Also keep in mind that when a seller has to deciding the P&P price, he (or she) doesn't know exactly how heavy the package will be and where potential byers are located. If the buyer is from a nearby country, the P&P might look "expensive". If the buyer is from a faraway country, it might look "cheap". Bottom line is: please don't complain about the P&P price at any stage (especially NOT when you leave your feedback for the item that you bought), as I am trying to guess what price to charge for P&P and it is impossible to get it "exactly right". If you are a Scrooge and feel like arguing, or creating a problem for tinny amounts of money, just don't buy from me. I don't want to complicate things and I don't like Scrooges.
