Note: As this will be the only way to hear the new Barracudas single before January, the buyer must provide a written guarantee that no copies of the acetate or test pressing will be made.
Direct from the mastering room, here is an unique Barracudas collectable.The official new Barracudas single God Bless The 45 is not released until January 2013, but in the meantime here is a one-off collectable.
Here the lucky winner will get an unplayed two sided 10" acetate of the new single featuring God Bless The 45 and the 2 songs on the B side: Festival Pop and European Girls.
Only 2 acetates were and will ever be cut. They are both numbered and you will get acetate no 1 (out of 2). If you don't want to play the acetate, the winner will also get a 7" white label test pressing (only 10 were ever made)

After a 7 year gap, The Barracudas return with a brand new single; their first new recordings since their 2005 self-titled album. “God Bless The 45” will be released on the Purepop imprint in late January. “God Bless The 45” is a loving ode to the 7” single, so fittingly it will only be available in that format as a limited edition release. Fronted by original members Jeremy Gluck, Robin Wills with Chris Wilson (Ex Flamin’ Groovies) along with Rob Coyne and Yan Quellien, the new single was recorded and mixed onto tape using only analog gear at Cowshed Studios in London. This single is the culmination of a flurry of activity from the band, which has seen them play The Purple Weekend in Spain, Festival Beat in Italy along with dates in Japan. Following gigs in Germany in November, The Barracudas plan more live performances in the New Year to promote the new single. Eschewing any digitising, the cut was 100% analog meaning that the grooves had to be “opened” manually without a preceding digital signal. Thanks to the expertise of Nick and Tim at Fluid http://www.fluidmastering.com/ the cut was amazing. This is really the best time to hear any recording. The lacquers have now being shipped to a manufacturing plant in the UK. I also cut 2 10” acetates. I will be holding on to one copy and the other…Well stay tuned for more information on this next month!

Grading. I don’t use the term Mint. I don’t believe that records manufactured over 30 years ago, even if unplayed, can be called mint.
Grading: Record/Cover
EX: Means either “near mint” to some light marks with hardly any noticeable noise. Sleeve has no or only minor wear.
VG: Means means some light background noise and more pronounced marks which do not affect the listening experience in a major way. Sleeve may be creased, minor discolouring, the odd fraying, some ringwear, seam split and perhaps some writing.
G: Means noticeable clicks or pop, may have scratches, but doesn’t skip or jump. Sleeve may be ripped, tape repair, large writing, sticker removal damage etc...
Fair: Not a pleasant listening experience, the disc is damaged, just a stop gap before upgrading. Sleeve is badly damaged, not one to frame on the wall...
Poor: I don’t sell records in poor condition
Postage: Please await my invoice. As this is such an unique item, tracking and insurance will be added on top of the UK postage price: Special delivery plus insurance = £8.50
Pick up in person is possible either from my home or in West/Central London
All records sent out in professional mailers with 2 stiffeners. Records removed from sleeve if housed in picture sleeve.
Insurance strongly recommended for high priced items and compulsory for packages of a value of over £80. Insurance added at cost. I retain proof of postage for all items.
