Well, I ain't gonna stop selling rare BARNES & BARNES vinyl just yet, you lucky super B & B collectors! Just located in the archives, one of the VERY LAST copies of B & B's 1979 45 vinyl release: "Something's In The Bag"/"Boogie Woogie Amputee"! I think this was one of the greatest pairings of 2 of the WEIRDEST and most unusual songs ever recorded! But what do I know.... Each song is a classic onto itself! Both got heavy airplay back in the day. "Something's In The Bag" is actually pretty bone-chilling. Mothers would complain to disc jockeys about the song scaring their kids! And "Amputee" is often cited as one of the weirdest song titles of all time!
And it gets better and better! It's on BEAUTIFUL blue vinyl! Only 200 copies were made, and gosh only knows where they are now. Many more black vinyl copies were manufactured. How many blue copies have survived the years? 31 years since release. Came in a striking black & white picture sleeve too. This baby had it all! Their first 45, "FISH HEADS" came out earlier that year. Not a bad year all in all for the Barnes boys! Good times, my friends... The cover provided the basis for their first album cover in 1980, "VOOBAHA". But you know that already, because you're no doubt a hardcore B & B fan if you've read this far. And the last thing that makes this MORE than special?? The guys have SIGNED this copy many years ago on the front side! WOW! This could be worth a buck or two! Signed using their real names, something that I hear ARTIE BARNES never does anymore. And you've got the other guy, superbad BILL MUMY, signing his name and with an arrow, points to his uncovered sexy nipple and writes "nipple covered"! Artie only wrote "Love" next to his name...
Do I need to say it? Grab this one FAST, you BARNES, DR. DEMENTO, lovers of absurdity fans! This one has it all, baby! Cover is in nice shape. I see where a small price sticker used to be, but it's no big deal. The record lays flat, looks like it has a few fingerprints on it which I assume can be cleaned off. I see no scratches, so I can't tell how it plays. Fun stuff!
