Hello everyone,
I've listed a box set of Jacqueline du Pre playing Beethoven's five cello sonatas. She is accompanied by Daniel Barenboim. Sadly, we were robbed of one of the most expressive and sympathetic cellist of the 19th and 20th century but her wonderful recordings will remain with us forever. The box set is EMI SLS 5042 and individually, the records are ASD 3170, 3171 and 3172.
I'm downsizing my collection and will be listing many more records over the coming weeks.
The condition of the records are as follows :-
There are no spindle marks on any of the labels. At the end of the first band of sonata no. 4 there are 2 very short parallel 5mm lines, non sounding and an occasional very fine and faint sleeve removal line. This is being hypercritical but with a sonata it is important to point this out. To counter these small imperfections I can say that the discs play as silently as one could ever hope for. Jacqueline has never sounded so sublime.
The sleeves are excellent as is the booklet. The box has a little wear on the corners but there are no splits. The pictures are a good guide to the overall condition.
The box will be packed in a special record mailing box for maximum protection.
