Hello and Welcome. Beginning in the 1960s, I made it my goal to collect every 5-star record still available, and I continued my search for 40 years. While not all the records I list for sale reached that lofty goal, they do represent an undying search for the unique and wonderful in the world of sound. I'm happy to be able to offer them to you now. Here is what you're bidding on: 
TITLE/ARTIST: "Southern Journey Volume 4: Banjo Songs, Ballads and Reels From the Southern Mountains" by Various Artists on the Prestige International Records label (INT 25004) in vintage original sound, issued in 1961. 
CONDITION OF VINYL: Near Mint(Vinyl is glowing and beautiful, with a couple of very light paper scuffs - graded visually using special daylight balanced spotlight). CONDITION OF JACKET: Excellent(Jacket is beautiful, with some very light corner bumps, edge, rub, ring and age wear, but otherwise unmarked - please see photos of actual album offered). 
SPECIAL FEATURES: Very nice early Prestige International Records original issue of the astounding and delightful "Southern Journey Volume 4" album of "Banjo Songs, Ballads and Reels" and other Old-Time treats recorded "in the field" by Alan Lomax. Wonderful cover; wonderful songs; wonderful performers and SUPERB liner notes. Please don't miss this classic.

RATING SYSTEM: New (sealed in original wrap); Near Mint (very light wear and uniform glossy vinyl appearance; one or two light rubs on jacket surface or corner); VG++ (light wear that is visible but not audible; light wear to jacket edges or corners); VG+ (many marks on record surface that are lightly audible during quiet passages; small splits, marks, or tears on jacket); VG (surface covered with light scuffs or marks that are audible during all but loudest passages; jacket extensively marked, split, or torn: note: we only sell this grade on very rare records).
