Telefunken LT 6598/6601. Early issue on dark blue/gold labels. Mono only. German pressing

Bach Mattheaus Passion. Nederlandse Bach Vereniging. Residentie Orkest. Boy Choir. Conducted by Dr. Anthon van der Horst. Recorded in 1957 in Naarden.

Soloists: Tom Brand, Laurens Bogtman, Erna Spoorenberg.

Theo Olof and Herman Krebbers (violins), Carel van Leeuwen Boomkamp, cello.

Vinyl has been barely played but it shows several longer scuffs on some of the sides. I noticed one finger nail mark which barely sounds.

The discs play better than they look. I wonder if these scuffs and lines were not present already when the set left the factory. Anyway. Rating is difficult. I rate it visually VG+ to NM.

The LP’s are in their original innersleeves.

Linen Box near MINT.

Beautiful 20-page booklet in near MINT condition + separate booklet with libretto near MINT.

Since January 1, 2011 the postal rates in The Netherlands have changed. Sending 1 LP has become rather expensive. For the same price of sending 1 LP I can send up to 6 LP’s now!

So perhaps it is a better idea to win more than 1 LP.
