Description

This is another sale from a my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.



This is Bach's Six Suites for Unaccompanied Cello performed by Jean-Max Clement on L’Oiseau-Lyre. It is the UK stereo 2LP gatefold SOL 60016/17 on second label.  The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are ZTT-462-1M ZTT-462-1M ZTT-463-1M ZTT-464-1M. The outer sleeve is the original top loader lightweight cardboard, printed in England by Robert Stace.



Grading

Visually graded the vinyl under a task lamp. Would grade  as follows


Side 1 is Good - lots of marks and scratches (see photo). There is a lot of crackle and there is six pops in one place. About one minute from the end of this side the record sticks

Side 2 is Excellent - one faint curved scratch, 3 cm long. There is very little crackle at all when played

Side 3 is Excellent - a few of light marks. There is very little crackle at all when played

Side 4 - grade as VG. Some light marks and scratches. Little bit more crackle than side 2 and 3. 


Sleeve is VG, quite worn, the spine is flattened and there is ring wear. There are some water marks on the front sleeve. 


Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from the record and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
