BABLA fantastic Indian funk/DJ RaRe 1st LP 1977

This is an extremely rare LP.

Babla "The Rhthym King" is a child prodigy.At the age of 7 he joined his brothers,Kalyanji Anandji's Orchestra as a Rhythym player and was a star attraction.The audience marvelled at Babla's wizardry on the Congas and the Toomba.In 1967 Babla introduced the Toomba to Indian audiences.He later accompanied the famed playback singer Mukesh to West Indies where he gave his popular solo item.

Babla began to create new Rhythym patterns from the age of 18.In 1967 when Kalyanji Anandji stopped giving stage performances with their Orchestral group,Babla started his own.He did more than a thousand shows.In 1972 Babla and his 18 piece Orchestra became the 1st group from India to tour UK & Holland where they gave 14 shows.Babla & His Orchestra is considered to be the best on stage in India.It is known for polished and professional presentation of a variety of vocal and instrumental numbers.

About This LP

It took quite a long time for Babla & His Orchestra to find time to do special recording for Polydor but when it was eventually completed the long wait proved very much rewarding.Here in this album are Kalyanji Anandji's famous film Hits and one great composition of Babla too,all alchemised by the genius of Babla's imaginative arrangements.

Each number is characterised by the unusualness of innovation generated by the deft use of choral voices,sarangi,rabab,sitar,moog,electric flute,saxophone and guitar accentuated by a brilliant rhthym section.As a result the familiar melodies appear in spell-binding metamorphosed forms.This album is indeed a connoisseur's delight and will rank as a creation of excellence both from the artistic and technical points of judgement.

This is Babla's 1st album: "Babla & His Orchestra" featuring Film Instrumentals. Very tough to find. Fantastic and highly rare first album by Babla! No need for introductions, this is a fantastic album!

On to condition:

Cover has no writings, no tears, even no seam splits. Spine has creasing but not split. A EX+ piece but can easily be graded as NM with no external noise at all.Just due to visual gradation I have graded it as EX+.It should have been played hardly few times and sounds superbly as one can find from the clips uploaded below.

Record in perfect shape.Must have been played a couple of times at the most.Almost Mint.Sleeve also in perfect order.

EXCELLENT

Has some minor paper scuff marks or putting records in and out of its sleeve has created some minor wear in the sleeve.Scuff marks on the record doesn't create any external noise at all.

VG+++

Record has visible signs of being played,have scuff marks which can be audible.Light wears on the cover and sleeve,writtings on the covers.
