Description
On offer here is a copy of Doctor Dunbar's Prescription by The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation, released in 1968 on the Blue Liberty label catalogue number LBS 83177.
One of Rock and Blues great drummers, Aynsley Dunbar has played with many great artists, including prior to this John Mayall, however he got the sack from Mayall's band and then formed his own, naming this his first album "Retaliation" as a get back to Mayall.
He did audition for the Jimi Hendrix Experience, but Hendrix could not decide between Dunbar and Mitch Mitchell, who got the job on a toss of a coin, apparently!
This single front laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition on the front, with two light creases but NO laminate lift or ringwear. The non laminated back is in amazing Excellent Plus condition. The "pinched"spine is square and all text is perfect.
Overall an incredible cover considering the album is now 46 years old!
The vinyl has a glossy mirror like shine to both sides, and a few very light marks. I have played this album all the way through on my system (J A Michell Gyrodek, SME Series IV arm with Dynavector Moving Coil cartridge, Naim Pre and Twin Mono Power Amps and B & W Nautilus speakers) and it sounds really great, clear powerful sound as you would expect from a first pressing. Silent all the way through with some very light background at the beginning of "Tuesday's Blues" and one click, rated Excellent Plus apart from these points.
The "Rough" Blue Liberty labels are clean with no marks, rated Excellent Plus.
The matrix numbers are LBS 83177 A//1 420 1 1 and LBS 83177 B//1 420 1 1.
This is now a very hard album to find in this sort of condition, Blue Liberty's are always sought after and come up rarely, a great opportunity to acquire this great blues album.
The record will be sent sandwiched between two 12" cardboard stiffeners in a professional heavy duty record mailing envelope made by Covers 33, these are the type used by Record Mail Order companies.
