For sale I have a copy of the 1967 Jimi Hendrix album Axis Bold As Love.
The record and sleeve are in excellent condition and the disc plays beautifully.
Sleeve: The laminated gatefold sleeve still has a very bright shine to it. The flipbacks on the inside of the gatefold are still beautifully shiny and stated 'Printed and made by Ernest J Day & Co Ltd, London. The is very slight wear on the two bottom edges as you look at the album. The fold out lyric sheet is there, which is slightly creased and has a mark but otherwise fine. The original poly lined inner bag is there too. I would class this as Ex at least, but would not want to overstate the condition, more like a NM/EX+ but taking in to account the minor creasing on the inner I would have to conservatively grade as EX.
Record: The disc is nice and shiny, there is spindle wear around the centre, and some marks on the record, but do not distract from quality when playing. It has recently been cleaned on a Project VCE S2 record cleaning machine. The Mono sound is bright and crisp with good bass and clear definition. The surface marks on the disc to not have an impact on the sound quality. Even with the surface marks the record plays EX/EX+
I play my vinyl on a Rega P25 with a Benz Micro SL cartridge. I realise that some other players are prone to more surface noise.
