ARTIST:
Various
TITLE:
Avant Garde Vol.2
DETAILS:
1969 German Deutsche Grammophon stereo 6-LP box set, compiling an astonishing collection of avant-garde works by some of the most important composers in the field such as Karlheinz Stockhausen (Telemusik, Mixtur), John Cage (Cartridge Music in particular, which showcases the earliest example of 'turntabilism') plus obscure but no less fascinating recordings from Gruppe Nuova Consonanza (an improv group starring Ennio Morricone), Gottfried Michael Koenig (Terminus II, Funktion Gruen: elektronische nirvana!) and more. Each of the six LPs are housed in a fully laminated sleeve with extensive notes on the reverse in German, French and English.
GRADING:
Cover - Very Good Plus
Some storage wear/rubbing to the box. There are a few black lines visible where the red cover has storage wear. Please check all photographs.
There is a small star sticker cellotaped to the spine of the box.
The actual album sleeves are in excellent condition. General light wear and a couple with just a little laminate lifting around spine.
Record - Very Good Plus
The vinyl and labels look clean.
The records do play with a little occasional background noise. This is noticeable but not overwhelming. I suspect some persistant cleaning will reduce this.
Our grading is based on the system used by Record Collector magazine as described below (We don't sell records with a grading of less than very good).
Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
