August Moon (Also recorded under the name Mr. Wiggles) "Don't Tell Me No Lie" / "I'm Walking Behind You" Double sided acetate or recording master disc! Condition is VG to VG+. This is by the same artist who recorded "Your Together Baby!" That was his only record he recorded under his name and it is one of the rarest Soul 45s ever! That record sells for $300 to $600. The sound is heavily a Motown sound, with female back up singers and horns. Don't Tell Me No Lie is a great upbeat Motown dancer, side two is a great ballad. The artist wrote songs for other people, and in reality is not a Detroit artist, but was a West Virginia artist that worked and recorded for New York record labels. This is the rarest of the rare! This is not a duplicate copy from a record recorder, this is cut off a professional machine. This might be a recording master or a master for plating. It is set up like a 7 inch 45. The lead in grooves are blank with no sound.There are a few surface scuffs, a tiny scratch on side two that does not affect play. The disc spins at 45 rpm and the grooves are cut deep like a pressed 45! Plays clean with minimal noise, about as much as usual for a old 45. It plays with better quality that most acetates you hear, a couple light pops, no skips. I HAVE PUT BOTH TRACKS UP ON YOUTUBE, TWO SEPARATE VIDEOS. This is really a great record. There is no documentation of these tracks existing, these are un-comped, most likely completely lost tracks by this obscure artist. This could be the only copy that exists. ( Found recently by myself at a Los Angeles estate sale, in central LA, on Crenshaw Blvd. there were other acetates, but noting good like this. Mostly bad song demos and reference roughs.)
