Power of the Orchestra

One of the Greats from the Golden Era

This is one of the superb Chesky Remasterings of an RCA Shaded Dog classic

Pressed on 180 gm vinyl

RCA chose two Moussorgsky power compositions to demonstrate The Power of the Orchestra, and power is what you get from Night on Bald Mountain and Pictures at an Exhibition. Huge percussive bass and sparkling highs are found within Moussorgsky's innovative, sometimes starling orchestrations.

It has been reissued and reissued, but no one did it like Chesky. Chesky went to the Audiophile Masters for mastering and pressing.

It compares head to head with my 1s Shaded Dog original, with slightly cleaner highs and deeper bass..

This record was played five or six times on a Rockport table / arm / Grasshopper cartridge combo.

To be conservative I will rate it at Mint-.  IMHO no record which has been played can be mint.

Cover is Mint?
