Description
This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop & R&B 10" 78's. There are quite a few on Atlantic, a nice group of Peacock and some other great records. Almost all of these came from the collection of a 1950's Yale radio DJ. Across the board, they have been played very little.
Here's the info on this item:
Release: Ruth Brown & The Delta Rhythm Boys - Someday / WHY?
Format: 78 rpm 10" shallac record
Year: 1950
Notes: Red & black label first pressing. Early record by Brown and one of the first "crossovers" by Atlantic artists. Two great bluesy/soul ballads here with Brown's vocals spotlighted. The DRB do great complimentary work as well. These are really great and pretty obscure tracks.
Record Condition: E+, The record itself is in really nice shape & plays very well, doesn't seem to have been played much at all. Just a couple of very small stray surface scuffs. Sound is clean and clear. Labels are also very clean with no writing/tears/scuffs. This is a really nice copy overall.
All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. I am an experienced grader and use the VJM grading system, but please see pictures as so much of this is subjective. These will be shipped in sleeves in a cardboard sandwich in an oversize box for maximum protection.
I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.
I will combine shipping for anyone who wins more than one item. If you do need combined shipping, please wait for an invoice before paying.
