This is part of a "Leftovers" auction I'm doing. I just didn't have time to list these when I did their label-specific auction.  There are 10-20 records each from Atlantic, Excello, Checker and Chess.  Some absolutely killer stuff there that I can't believe I didn't get to the first time around.

Release: LaVerne Baker - Soul on Fire / How Can You Leave A Man Like This

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1953


Notes: Original 1953 release with the yellow labels. The first single released by Baker. The A-side is a great R&B ballad, but the b-side is a straight up banger. A stunning record all around.


Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is in nice shape, with no real scuffs or scratches, but does have some light hazing from liquid exposure. Both sides play very well with almost no background noise at all. No pops/ticks/skips, etc. Labels have some light scuffing and dirtiness. This one plays so well, that I'm keeping it as a VG+, but on the lower end because of the labels.


Sleeve Condition: All the Atlantic sleeves are in about the same condition.  They have all been exposed to liquid and are wrinkled, but not bend or torn.  Seems have been "steamed" loose on some.  The present well, but are probably truly in G/G+ condition.
