Ataulfo Argenta Edition.
Alto Analogue 7 disc box set AA006, Six 33 1/3 rpm discs, one 45 rpm disc, see description below. Booklet included. Limited edition # 0438.
The Ataulfo Argenta Edition. Audiophile remasterings of six recordings of Spanish repertoire with Argenta conducting the Orquestra Nacional De España. Recorded by Spanish Columbia, and originally issued on the Alhambra label. Only SCLL 14000 (Concierto Aranjuez, etc.) and side one of SCLL 14007 (Master Peter's Puppet Show) were issued in stereo by Decca in the SXL series. These were all issued in stereo on the London label, but are very rare, except for the Concierto de Aranjuez disc. Always sought after for both the sound quality and the wonderful performances.
Remastered at Abbey Road in 1997 from the original master tapes by Nick Webb. Includes reproduction covers with the original Alhambra cover artwork and labels.
