Description
ASSOCIATED PROGRAM SERVICE radio station music library of vertical-cut, 16-inch red vinyl discs. The Associated Library was a division of the Muzak Corporation in New York, and these discs were "new-old stock," unused left-over copies given to me by the president of Muzak in the 1960's. Most have not been played at all, though some I may have listened to once, so all are in like new condition, but listed as used. The 24 in this lot will be carefully packed and sent by Media Mail. NOTE: These are large discs and must be played by a phono cartridge that reads vertical groove modulations, rather than lateral. For best sound, the correct Western Electric equalization curve must be used; other curves such as RIAA, NAB, or AES will make the music sound dull, but can be corrected using a parametric equalizer. The sound quality, when properly reproduced, is clean and quiet. Lots of wonderful music on these disc, from the days before melody died.
