On 24th August 1970 three people met: Manuel Götsching (guitar),Hartmut Enke (bass) and Klaus Schulze (drums & guitar).They formed a rock group called
ASH RA TEMPEL,and right away they were a sensation on Berlin stage
About one year later,their drummer left to start a successful solo career
Altogether,they gave 33 concerts during their short existence. Not many of these events
Were recorded,and only a few tapes survived
Of those,just a handful of tracks is in barely tolerable sound quality
One of it is “Soiree Academique ,which is the first A.R.T. live recording on a disc
Besides his drums, Klaus Schulze also plays electric slide guitar. The track was recorded during
A concert at Berlin´s serious “Akademie der Künste”.The date was 19 May 1971
and the auditorium was sold out
