Description

This is the original deep-groove pressing of Art Pepper “Modern Art” on maroon and silver labels of Intro ILP 606. The deep-groove in under the labels, suggesting that this might actually be a test pressing that was labeled for sale post-production. The flat rim playing surface of side 1 has a ¾” handling mark at the intro that produces a few non-repetitive tics; Side 2 shows a inaudible scuff over part of Track 2, and Tracks 3 and 4. (It should be noted that, even under the best of circumstances, Intro records vinyl does not lend itself to ideally quiet pressings. ) The frame cover is clean throughout; there is a very neat 7” repair to the top seam, at the opening; 3 ¼” clean (no paper loss) break at the center of the spine; clear tape repair along the bottom seam.
