Art Blakey on Blue Note 4054
This is the rare original deep-groove RVG-stamped “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “Meet Me at the Jazz Corner of the World, Volume 1” on the West 63rd labels of Blue Note BLP 4054. Side 2 has two inaudible pressing blisters and a tiny defect that produces three tics; otherwise, the playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster. The laminated cover (no address, as issued) is in extraordinary condition – immaculate throughout – with just light wear at the opening corners; store sticker at the upper right corner of the back slick. Strangely, even though the front and back show the mono/4054 catalogue number, the spine has “stereo” blacked out with a marker. Illustrated inner sleeve is included.
