Description
This is the original deep groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “Orgy in Rhythm, Volume 2” on the New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1555. The beaded rim playing surface of Side 1 has just a small cluster of needle drops at the end of the first track into the beginning of the second track that produces a few tics; Side 2 is in near-new condition; both sides have a high luster; perhaps played once. The laminated West 63rd St. cover (serif font on the back) is bright and clean throughout; ½” x 2” lamination lifting toward the top of the opening, on the front. Personnel include Art Taylor, Jo Jones, “Specs” Wright, Sabu, Ray Bryant, and Wendell Marshall. $100.00.
