Description

This is the original deep groove RVG-etched “P”-pressing of Art Blakey “Orgy in Rhythm, Volume 1” on the New York 23 labels of Blue Note BLP 1554.  The flat rim playing surface is in overall excellent condition; a few inaudible scuffs on Side 1, while Side 2 has only a superficial imprint from a previous inner sleeve; light, intermittent tics throughout.  The laminated West 63rd St. cover (serif font on the back) is also in excellent condition with just a 3” x 5 ¼” piece of lamination that is missing at the upper right corner of the front.  Personnel include Art Taylor, Jo Jones, “Specs” Wright, Sabu, Ray Bryant, and Wendell Marshall.  $100.00
