Description
Up for sale is an original 1959 stereo pressing of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers 4003 (Moanin) released by Blue Note Records. Please review the description and photos carefully to see what you will receive, and ask any questions if you have any before purchasing.
The record is verified as a first pressing due to the address “47 West 63rd St” on both labels, deep groove, as well as the INC and (R) for trade mark logo. Overall, I rate the record and jacket in Very Good (VG) condition. On my turntable, I notice a consistent undercurrent of surface noise throughout, but it is largely noticeable during quieter sections, and does not overpower the music as a whole. Cosmetically the record is clean and glossy, though there are some hairline scratches and scuffs on both sides.
The jacket is intact with wear to the corners. A previous owner’s name is written in red marker on the back cover (see photo), and there is also a #5 stamp. I also notice slight moisture damage to the bottom-right of the back cover.
