Graded by Goldmine Standards:
Vinyl:  Graded VG plus = Excellent.  Vinyl looks clean.  (no obvious paper scuffs nor hairlines appear).  Gave this a listen prior listing, and it played very well without any noticeable surface noise.  
Sleeve:  Graded Very Good Minus.  Prestige cover from 1973 has held up - all seams appear solid despite obvious edge wear.   Title on spine can still be read. The minus  is chiefly for the ring wear that detracts from  the cover art.

Album Review:
Excellent album that has Art working to the taste of the early 1970's audience. Blakey shifts from straight hard bop to more of a modal soul jazz groove on this  1973 release.  The electric playing of the then younger players - Carter Jefferson,  Woody Shaw, and Michael Powell emerges on the 2nd track of the Lp "A Chant For Bu"  and continues strong throughout the album.  Some great long grooving songs include  "Mission Eternal" as well as "Chant For Bu".  Jon Hendricks sounds great as usual on  Art's new arrangements which have Cedar Walton at electric piano for classics "Moanin' "  and  "Along Came Betty".  It is a very satisfied well rounded album that fittingly ends with  the great hard bop track "Gertrude's Bounce" (by Richie Powell) that kicks off with a vintage  drum solo by Mr. Blakey.  The Jazz Message himself Art Blakey aka 'Buhaina" Lives!
