Description
This is an auction of a VERY RARE Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers - A Night at Cafe Bohemia with the Jazz Messengers Volume 2 - Blue Note 1508. Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder - has "RVG & an "EAR" stamped in the trailoff deadwax on both sides. RARE ORIGINAL 1st pressing with 167 Lexington Ave DG deep groove labels both sides and flat edge and no 'R' below the Blue Note logo LP. See my other Jazz LPs by Art Blakey, Wynton Kelly, Charles Mingus and Gigi Gryce and Donald Byrd, and many others this week - all with NO reserve prices.
Record is visually graded VG++ side 1 with some light marks/hairlines, VG+ side 2 with some light marks/hairlines and some deeper marks that can be felt with a finger BUT IT PLAY GRADES MINT- overall, cover is VG+ with slight ring and edge wear, wear at all 4 corners including a 2" split at lower right, 1/2" splits at upper left and some beginning splits/fraying at the other 2 tips. Back cover shows residue from an old price sticker and an old price written in ink - both at the upper left.
