Ariel Strange Fantastic Dream Rare Aussie Prog LP
The band Ariel was the brainchild of Mike Rudd who’s brand of experimental / Prog rock was also displayed with his bands Spectrum and Indelible Murtceps. For “A Strange Fantastic Dream”, Ariel included members of Spectrum, Taman Shud and Kahvas Jute, all legendary bands from the Australian Prog scene. While this album was slightly more mainstream and did indeed spawn a major hit, “Jamaican Farewell”, it again reaffirmed Rudd’s credentials as one of the countries most creative musical talents. This record is an Australian pressing on the EMI Label (EMC 2508). The record has some minor light surface scuffs and is of very good appearance and plays and sounds superb with occasional low-level surface noise. The gatefold cover has some minor wear and the lyric sheet is excellent.
