Description
Released by Apple in 1973, cat # R 5997; this is “Band On The Run” ( 3:50 edit) / Band On The Run (5:09 full version) by Paul McCartney & Wings.
This is the rare Apple demo used strictly for promotional purposes only. As you can from the pictures, the labels are white with the EMI boxed logo. It is a bit odd therefore that they retained the Apple numbering system, rather than adopt the “PSR” prefix used for EMI promos.
This is an exceptionally clean copy that has very minimal wear to the labels with a couple barely noticeable spindle marks to each label. There are no marks to the vinyl on either side. The record grades as near MINT and comes in a plain white sleeve.
All of these singles come from the same special source – an original 60’s Top Rank DJ who started in the ballrooms and progressed to radio and record production in the 1970’s. The majority of the collection is mint or unplayed! All of these are one-offs, no duplicates so miss them at your peril! For the full story on the collection, please see our “me” page.

Insurance will be required if the value of the order exceeds £34. If you refuse insurance and the record is damage or goes missing in the post, I’m afraid we cannot be held responsible and will not entertain any claims. UK record delivery is an extra 70p and special delivery is £4.75. Overseas insurance will be either £3.50 or £5.50 dependent upon the value.
Payment by PayPal is preferred for all customers; though I will accept cheques or postal orders for UK customers. Overseas customers must pay by Paypal unless agreed otherwise prior to auction end.
