Description
Presented is an exquisitely rendered example of Andy Warhol album cover art. This is the very scarce "Chopin Nocturnes" Vol. 1, Jan Smeterlin, Piano. This album is on the Epic label, LC-3151. The album was issued in 1956.
The art example on the front cover is presented in Warhol's "blotted line" technique.
There are three distinct versions of the Warhol cover art for this title. First, is the one I am offering here, the blue lettering example. Next is Vol. 2, the green lettering version and finally a 2 LP set issue with red letters.
This record has been fully play graded: VG, with surface sound.
Labels: Deep Groove,VG++.
Cover: The Warhol art portion is graded as a solid VG+. There is a section near the mouth of sleeve where lamination was removed. (see pic) There is a two inch split at the middle of the bottom seam.
