Description

ANDREW HILL - COMPULSION, Blue Note BST-84217, 43 West 61st on jacket, Division of Liberty on label, Van Gelder in dead wax.

Condition of record is E+, no scratches, no scuffs, no spindle marks, plays clean & quiet. Jacket shows slight overall wear, no seam splits. Small numbers written in ink on back lower right.

This 1965 recording was first issued in 1967, after Blue Note had been sold to Liberty. The musicians are Freddie Hubbard (trumpet), John Gilmore (tenor sax & bass clarinet), Andrew Hill (piano), Cecil McBee, Richard Davis (bass), Joe Chambers (drums), Nadi Qamar, Renaud Simmons (percussion).
The tunes are Compulsion, Legacy, Premonition, Limbo.
