Super Rare Original APPLE "An Apple A Day" 1969 Vinyl LP - Page One Records POLS 016 - Matrix (side 1) POLS 016 1Y//1 (side 2) POLS 016 2Y//1 - On the List of the rarest 60's psych records of all time! Visually graded VG (both vinyl and jacket) The Vinyl is nice and clean looking, There are some scratches on side one, along with some pitting on the first track . Side two is very clean with a few light scuffs. Labels are clean. Jacket is all intact with a little bit of creasing on the upper and lower right corners. Spine is intact... no seam splits (little wear on bottom seam) Tiny hint o ring wear on front. Sample sticker on front - also two little staple holes towards opening of jacket where it looks like they stapled it shut PLAYBACK GRADING: SIDE ONE : Very little crackle or background noise ...really sounds crisp. The pitting I mentioned in the first track above did cause a few jumps in the first song. (Played on a Numark 1625 Turntable) - Also had one jump in the 3rd track . SIDE TWO: Nice and clean - Just about zero background noise- Super clear and crisp. Didn't have any skip or jumps on side 2. Really sounds great!! Jump on this one ! Don't think it will be too easy to find a much better copy floating around. It has been an important part of my collection for many years, but I am trying to raise enough $ to take my son to Universal Studios for Christmas. Apple were a British psychedelic rock band. The band was founded in Cardiff in 1968 by Rob Ingram on guitar and Jeff Harrad on bass. They released a single LP in 1969, titled An Apple a Day. The album was a commercial failure, and the band ceased to exist shortly after its release. However, during the subsequent years several tracks from the LP, most notably "The Otherside" by Harrad, were dubbed classics of British psychedelic rock by critics, making An Apple a Day one of the most sought-after British psychedelic rarities.
The original vinyl version (released by Page One Records) is now extremely hard to find. A reissue by Repertoire Records was released in 1994, which included several bonus songs (those being early mono versions of some of the album's tracks).
