American Forces Radio and Television Service Vinyl LP "Elvis - A Legendary Performer, Volume 2"
There is a talking track that is an interview when Elvis was 21 years old.
This album is in very good condition. There are some light visual signs of use, but the album plays great. I test each and every vinyl LP.

Rare pressings, limited production numbers, exotic label designs, classic album titles, unique track listings… Vinyl LP pressings from the American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS) have all of this and more. With a rich and fascinating history, AFRTS pressings can hold great interest for a collector. They are closely tied to political and social history. They are LPs that had a unique and specific purpose. They are part of a distinct subculture all of their own. And their pressings for collectible artists can be hard to find.
AFRTS pressings are vinyl LPs that have been exclusively pressed by the AFRTS. These LPs were made for exclusive broadcasting from the radio stations operated by AFRTS. During the classic vinyl years of the 1960s and 1970s, the AFRTS headquarters at Fort Benjamin Harrison would commission an LP, and send it out for distribution to their radio stations. As a branch of the United States Department of Defense, AFRTS had excellent resources and powerful support across multiple industries. This power would allow it to press some very unique vinyl LPs.
The end result of this cultural change was that by the late 1960s AFRTS were regularly negotiating exclusive deals with US record companies to re-press unique versions of great album titles by popular artists. The pressings were copyrighted for exclusive use by AFRTS, and were made in small quantities.
