Description

KILLER first entered the market place Xmas 1971. This is a 1st issue most likely from around Xmas time whilst charting. What I like about this copy is two fold...firstly playback is truly epically good...you can find decent players...but not everyone plays practically perfect. And then...there's that cover with the calendar.. Again, you can find decent copies...but really well preserved ones...are harder to come by. This one is ticking a lot of boxes for me. Matrix A1/B1. Heavy-set. Comes housed in the original gatefold opening with flip-out calendar dated '1972'. This might sound arbitrary but the 1st issues clearly should say '1972' and not1973! What's nice here is the calendar section is super condition. Unused - unscribbled on - and the perferation connection with the main cover is TOTALLy still intact...which I'm not sure I've seen before. The original white inner too. Bangin!
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In really nice condition and has only seen very light use. Excellent lustre. A couple of slightest marks per side - practically nothing. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of slightest deviations. Clean player into all those fussy moments. I'm thinking 'Flies' - lots of percussive tapping percussion...and only a nearminter with ultra-low use is gonna give you a real perfect rendition on this one. To be honest - quite unusual to find it this clean. The audio is absolutely top dollar...clean feeder even into the quietest moments. If you really rate this title why would you want to compromise on a near Excellent. Surely you're gonna wait for a near-perfect copy...and that's what we have on offer here. It is practically perfect and if your system is revealling...then you're probably going to need to insist on a copy like this. All I could pick out was one isolated and tiny tick per side...Now that is one hell of a strike-rate. It will pay dividends on the audio front - that I can assure you. FINAL UPGRADE. I don't think I've ever heard a better rendition of this Alice title.
Cover (Ex-) Nice clean surfaces - check out the front. I tend to find most are horribly creased or have surface wear...or faded colours. This example has amazing colour retention on that front image...and to be frank..looks superb with just a couple of minor stress creases in bottom right sector. Rear is equally good. Superb interior - like it.. Only minor edge wear in a couple of spots. The calendar is truly superb.. no creasing writing...and, again colour retention on Alice is almost perfect. I don't think I'll be seeing one at this standard in a hurry. The calendar is fully attached - i.e. perforation is absolutely 100% intact and totally intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Erm..you won't beating this bad-boy any time soon.
Inner (Vg+) aged a bit. no splits.
