Rare Burman score to the Russian/India co-production ALI BABA AND THE 40 THIEVES.  Contains a hard driving instumental music BALKAN BEATS BOLLYWOOD, where the whole caravan of 40 ‘Chors’ pass by. Yes, Burman also deals in Serbian beserkness!!! Absolute over-the-topness Indian style!

The other instrumental on this LP is genuine LSD Psychedelics Indian style. RD Burman did eat Magic Mushrooms, for those of you who hadn’t noticed yet! Contains the most hallucinating track ever. The instrumental soundscape takes you into Ali Babba’s secret cave, full of wonderous treasures & weird creatures…. Strange moog effects, echoing percussions, unsettling flutes & backward played tapes here…. Overwealming & spooky. Who had ever the Indians imagened doing this? But Burman does! A long long track goes from the one weird phase into the other. 

 

India 1980, Sleeve VG+ (taped seams)record VG+++ face noise due to Indian pressing, nice copy and hard to find Burman title.
