One of a nice collection of Classical rarities we have just had in, a single cherished and many barely played lps.
Alfred Cortot on EMI French only References series in the Chopin Preludes Impromptus, Barcarolle and Berceuse. I was going to keep this as my record club issue of the Preludes did not have the other works to it, then I found I had them on Great Instrumentalists LP, so here it is for you!. A Direct Metal Master, this means the mono music can be played on any stereo era cartridge, indeed anything except a vintage mono cart, for which the grooves may be too fine.
Record in Near Mint condition, no marks to the very clean playing surfaces, Sleeve is Near Mint . No splits or creases. Labels are clean as seen in pics. he little sign of wear to this suggesting, as do the lack of many spindle trails, that this has not been played much in its life. A highly regarded top performance. in an earliest type pressing, with nice low stampers.
Heard throughout, this played near mint with the minimum amount of pops without even being cleaned.
