Description
Rca Lsc 2449 in Living Stereo is the original 1960 pressing of this recording. Gibson leads the Royal Opera house Orchestra of Covent Garden in the ballet music from Gounod's Faust and the Carmen Suite by Bizet. Also Gounod's Funeral MArch of a MArionette.
Lp surface is mark free with the exception of one production flaw "bubble" that can be seen and felt but i could not hear it on the Gounod side. The bubble is easier to see on the Bizet side and is heard on the Bizet side for two revolutions as a low tick. Visually this record would be classified as excellent and sonically as very good plus.
Lp has steady background crackle that is mild and is more readily observed during the quieter passages. I play graded this lp after playing completely through both sides.
the jacket has a minor amount of rub wear. Bottom edge has a one half inch split. Jacket will come in a special plastic sleeve. lp will be shipped in a poly lined sleeve. Its original paper inner sleeve is also included. The only promo marking is on the jacket's rear upper left corner.
