Alan Lee (born 29 July 1936, Melbourne) is an Australian bandleader, vibraphonist, guitarist, and percussionist. He was one of the first Australian jazz musicians to fuse classical music with jazz and to utilize Latin American rhythms in his music. The rare album “The Smilor” features a host of Australian talent with Kenny Martin, Ron Sandilands, Tony Gould, Ray Martin and other helping out. An Australian stereo pressing on the Jazznote Label (JNLP014 S), the record is of immaculate appearance and plays and sounds superb with a minimum of surface noise. The cover has a slight ring and other minor wear only.
