Description

This is part of a larger auction of original, 1950's-era blues, doo-wop & R&B 45's. For this round, the focus is on smaller labels like Ace, Baton, Ember, Aladdin and more.  There are several nice rarities and a handful of bonus listings of records on *really* small labels.

Release: Thurston Harris – Over And Over / You're Gonna' Need Me

Format: 45 rpm 7" single


Year: 1958


Notes: White label promo 1st pressing. Early single by Harris who was originally with The Lamplighters and then had a solo hit with "Itty Bitty Pretty One". A-side is a poppier upbeat cover of the Bobby Day song. Gonna Need is more of a raucous R&B track that let's say "borrows" some elements of Get a Job. 


Vinyl Condition: VG+, vinyl is very clean with almost no cosmetic wear at all. It has been play tested and plays great with no pops or skips, minimal to no background noise. Sound is fantastic. Labels are nice and clean as well with just some very light scuffing. No writing, tears or stickers. Very nice copy of this one.


Sleeve Condition: VG+, Original company sleeve has some light wrinkling and a small pencil number in the corner.  No tears or splits though.  Displays quite nicely.
