Condition

All covers, labels and inners have no rips, loosening of glue, handwriting in ink or biro pen.

All records listed are in no less than EX condition (see above for actual grading). In some cases I may list a very rare record at a lesser grading but this will be described in detail. All items are graded conservatively according to Record Collectors Grading System Record Collectors Grading system (outlined at end of listing)

Extremely RARE Decca demo, of The Elf/Turn Into Earth, featuring Jimmy Page. This was originally released back in 1966, upon release only an estimated 458 units were ever sold! making the actual record/standard release a highly desirable & very hard item to locate in any shape today! but obviously (by these photos) you can clearly see its actually the pre-release that's on offer. A very rare DECCA demo from 1966 (same year of release) but before this...WOW! you will never see this record offered ANYPLACE else. I see original/standard release's going for £200+ a quick look on another site (not named) and you can see the demand for this record is very HIGH! there are no others at this time of listing available, especially no demo versions.

Only a couple/handfull of these super rare demos have ever surfaced, here is my copy...Never been on the open market until now! plays as EX on each the A&B sides. To be HIGHLY critical on my part only a couple of light ticks in the play in part of side B, and maybe one or two tiny almost inaudible in play...This is almost impossible to avoid....The record is so hard to find in any better shape, than listed here. You can find better??

Some light marks on the record under bright light, these are cover storage lines. NOTHING makes the record jump or stick, there is also no distortion or background noise in any play. No heavy scratched marks. Playing the record was absolutely LOUD & nearly perfect throughout. EX+ grade here for the actual audio. I have taken these photographs of the actual item myself & endeavoured to show the light lines of cover removal here...Please note : none of these make any impact on the EX audio.

The only problem to be honest...Is giving it up! I love this B side recording above the A side...And perhaps you'll know why! anyway.... 

The centre push out centre is still fully intact with all prongs intact. There are no handwritten names in ink or biro pen on the labels. For me the track "Turn Into Earth" is absolute genius of the day, featuring pre-Yardbirds/pre Zeppelin Jimmy Page & Al Stewart on vocals. I have to say...The Scottish rock group "Captain Marryat" took obvious inspiration from this singer & particular track, sounding a lot like some of this groups stuff. Great!

This track is actually covered by the Yardbirds also. Upon the singles poor sales, it was pulled & later re-recorded to feature on a future Al Stewart release. Al Stewart was born in Glasgow & still performs across the globe today, located now I believe in the sates. So there you have it....A true lost gem!

Record will be packed in a tough custom box DEFENDAPACK mailer as shown in the photos below. The mailer has a locking tab. The record will be placed outside its cover and inside a brand new polythene protector between two card stiffeners and sealed at the top with fragile marked masking tape. Items are labelled "handle with care".

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc

Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
