Description
AXE VICTIMS - ANOTHER VICTIM (1984) ~ Axe Victims have a rad name and only released this quality LP before fleeing into oblivion. This is straightforward German heavy metal in the vein of Judas Priest (electronic drums era). These guys have a sound similar to bands like Stormwitch, Trance, Krokus, Gravestone and Faithful Breath at times.
The album has some catchy qualities to it. Chorus chants are put to good use, while the tone of guitars is quite cool. This one has a neat melodic poppy metal feel to it that makes it stand out a bit. Elements of Priest and some Accept emerge throughout the album. For those into mid-eighties German metal will find something they like.
MAD AXEMAN - MAD AXEMAN (1984) ~ Though certainly not original, Mad Axeman have every era of Accept down pat (from the first album to Restless & Wild elements). Wonder what UDO and the boys would think?
JAG PANZER - BATTLE ZONES / THE CRUCIFIX (7") (2020) ~ JAG PANZER "Battle Zones / The Crucifix" featuring two breathtaking compositions by one of the pioneers of US metal from their '82 demo. Great dark NWOBHM styled offerings, Conklin's vocals sound absolutely magical. The songs are very much driven by the guitar and the catchy mesmerizing harmonies, hooks, and leads.
