Original German pressing from 1975 on SHEFFIELD LAB, LAB 2.Produced and engineered by Bill Schnee, Executive Producers are Doug Sax and L.Mayorga. DIRECT DISC RECORDING, LIMITED EDITION. Beautiful, fully laminated gatefold-cover with photos, infos, line-up etc.

The idea for this album was to take Hollywood’s best and most in demand studio-musicians, team them up with singer Th.Houston (who was a MOTOWN artist at that time) and to record them “live in the studio” with a set of half vocal and half instrumental tunes. Musically, there’s the funk dominating the soul- and R’n’B-tracks. Fine solos ( ft. funky Fender Rhodes ! ) by everybody on the grooving instrumental tracks and soulful vocals by Miss Houston. Recorded, mixed, mastered and pressed according to Sheffield lab’s highest standards, making this LP a true audiophile classic.

By the way, this was the first multiple microphone large ensemble direct recording that Sheffield lab did, the next one was the 1980 LP “Lincoln Mayorga & Amanda McBroom – Growing Up In Hollywood Town”, wich I also offer in my auctions !

Condition: the record looks and plays in mint- to mint--. The gatefold-cover has intact seams/spine, front/back and inner are fine, slight wear on just one corner, overall mint--.

Zustand: die LP ist optisch & akkustisch in mint- bis mint--. Das Klapp-Cover ist bis auf eine Ecke sehr schön erhalten, insgesamt mint--. alle Platten habe ich professionell gereinigt und angehört (meist ganz, manchmal in Ausschnitten). Kommen mit neuer Außen- & Innenhülle !

Grading & Cleaning:

• the record has been cleaned on my professional HANNL record cleaning machine

• after that I playgraded it (completely or at least in parts) on my Rega Planar 9, Moving Coil cartridge by EINSTEIN:TU-3 Super Fine Line ( please consider that the playback might differ a bit depending on your own equipment )

• I also visually graded the record under a strong light

• only an unplayed record is mint, the highest grading for a used record is mint- ! My basic gradings are: mint – ex – vg.

• cleaned records are stored in a new deluxe innersleeve and they are placed in a new PVC protection-sleeve !
