Description

ARTHUR RUSSELL

CALLING OUT OF CONTEXT

ROUGH TRADE RTRADLP 161

Extremely limited (I believe one of less than 200 copies!) double vinyl Record Store Day issue (2010) of Arthur Russell rarities! In pristine condition

and STILL SEALED! As the label on the front says, '12 extraordinary unreleased tracks from the timeless visionary genius of the New York

Underground'. The songs were written and recorded by Arthur Russell in studios and at home between 1973 and the year of his death.

In addition to singing and songwriting, he plays many of the instruments, including cello, percussion, guitar and keyboards. Many of the tracks

feature percussion and drum programming by Mustafa Khaliq Ahmed, as well as synthesizers and trombone played by Peter Zummo, both

long-time collaborators with Arthur. Steve Hall supplies electronic drums to the album and Jennifer Warnes vocals to 'That's Us/Wild Combination'.

Sleeve: In great, STILL SEALED condition! No marks or wear.

Side A: 1. The Deer In The Forest Part 1, 2. The Platform On The Ocean, 3. You And Me Both

Side B: 1. Calling Out Of Context, 2. Arm Around You

Side C: 1. That's Us/Wild Combination, 2. Make 1, 2, 3. Hop On Down

Side D: 1. Get Around To It, 2. I Like You!, 3. You Can Make Me Feel Bad, 4. Calling All Kids

This is just one item from my own extensive and eclectic personal collection of music and related bits and pieces which I will be listing over the next few months, or so.

I have been collecting for more than 30 years, so check back regularly to see what other gems I may have unearthed - they won't be listed in any particular order!

I am not a dealer, so won't use traditional grading terms but, instead, will describe each item as carefully and honestly as I can with text and photos. Bidders are then free

to form their own opinions. Any apparent marks showing in the photos are reflections or dust, etc., unless otherwise specifically identified. If in doubt, please contact me

with any queries before bidding and I will get back to you promptly with an answer. I will also keep you informed throughout the whole ebay process.

All vinyl will be packaged in sturdy cardboard mailers with at least one stiffener and will be despatched within 2 working days of payment being received. PayPal is preferred,

but please contact me before bidding to discuss alternative, acceptable methods. Postage rates: UK - 2nd Class £2.60, Europe/R.O.W - AirMail Small Packet £6.50/£11.40.

Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!
