ART PEPPER "SURF RIDE" LP - On SAVOY Records from 1956, #MG 12089. Original 1st press MONO pressing with the classic blood red label with silver lettering and logo. The label is Deep Groove on both sides with 'RVG' etched in the trail-off on both sides. Thick vinyl, thick laminated cardboard cover with the superb "cheesecake" design. The personnel: Art Pepper/alto sax; Jack Montrose/tenor sax; Russ Freeman, Hampton Hawes or Claude Williamson/piano; Bob Whitlock, Joe Mondragon or Monte Budwig/bass; Bobby White or Larry Bunker/drums. The vinyl is in VG+ to VG condition (beautiful gloss, small sleeve marks and hairlines). The thick jacket is in VG+ shape and displays nicely. Minor tiny wear at corner tips. Two small tape stains at top of back cover. There are NO significant seam splits, NO cut-out marks, and the front cover graphics are particularly striking. The songs are: Tickle Toe; Chili Pepper; Susie The Poodle; Brown Gold; Holiday Flight; Surf Ride; Straight Life; The Way /you Look Tonight; Cinnamon; Nutmeg; Thyme Time; Art's Oregano.
