Description

Please read my description carefully before bidding.  I will ship the item for free worldwide and will accept free return if it doesn't match the listing description.

This one is a first mono and deep-grooved pressing of Art Blakey and The Jazz Messenger's THE BIG BEAT. Blue Note Records BLP-4029. The is an original issue from Blue Note Records, not a reissue version of Classic Records or Analog Production.  Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder with "RVG" and "EAR" stamped on the dead wax of both sides. With "R" and "INC" on both sides.  Address on labels: "BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC. 37 WEST 63rd NYC"

Art Blakey (drums), Lee Morgan (trumpet), Wayne Shorter (tenor saxophone), Bobby Timmons (piano), Jymie Merritt (bass).

The vinyl looks VG+ on both sides under the bright light.  Shiny.  A very few non-feelable hairlines and one feelable minor scratch at the beginning of song number 1 on side two. Yellow marks around spindle hole on both labels.

I've played test the vinyl and its sounds VG++ to me on both sides.  Some small tics and pops but not overpowering the music.

The cover is also VG++.  Strong and no fading.  But some laminate peels on the front and dirts on back. The spine is intact and readable.

The record is play graded as well as visually. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws. M (perfectly like new), NM, VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, G-. You will be satisfied.  And I will accept a free return.  Please bid with confidence.
