Description

This sale is for a copy of "The Big Beat" by Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers. This is from 1960 (1st pressing) on Blue Note BST-84029 in stereo . ………. This is in beautiful condition....check out the photos as they are part of the description. This features a laminated front cover, deep groove labels with 47 West 63rd, RVG stereo stamped on both sides & the ear etched on both sides. The players are Lee Morgan (trumpet), Wayne Shorter (tenor sax),  Bobby Timmons (piano), Jymie Merritt (bass) & Art Blakey (drums). The songs are "The Chess Players", "Sakeena's Vision", "Politely", "Dat Dere", "Lester Left Town" & "It's Only A Paper Moon".

Condition

  • Cover : The cover is in VG to VG+ condition with general light wear on the edges & corner tips, a small 1" split at the upper right corner & some small lamination lifting at the right edge but otherwise this is totally solid & very presentable. *****PLEASE NOTE***** In the photo below, the spot at the bottom of the cover is from the flash of my camera. This is NOT on the cover. Flash only.


  • Vinyl : The vinyl shines like new with all of its original gloss & is in VG+ condition on both sides with a few very light surface scuffs & a small spot of discoloration.

  • Labels : The deep-groove labels are in VG++ condition with a few light trails.
