Description

This one is an original mono and deep-grooved pressing of Art Blakey's MOANIN'. Blue Note Records BLP-4003. This is an original 1959 issue from Blue Note Records, not a reissue version of Classic Records or Analog Production. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder with "RVG" stamped on the dead wax of both sides. I saw "EAR" stamped on Side 1 only. There is no "EAR" on Side 2. Address on labels: "BLUE NOTE RECORDS. 47 WEST 63rd. NYC". The cover is also the 1st cover with laminated front cover. Address on the back cover: "BLUE NOTE RECORDS, 47 West 63rd. St., New York 23"
Artists include: Art Blakey (drums), Lee Morgan (trumpet), Bobby Timmons (piano), Benny Golson (tenor saxophone), Jymie Merritt (bass).
The vinyl plays NM on both sides. Vinyl is bright and glossy.
The cover is NM- due to black ink residue on the back cover (please see picture). Otherwise, very nice. The spine is intact.
The record is play graded. I attempt to grade conservatively, listing all significant flaws.
My grading is as follows: M (perfectly like new), NM, NM-/VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G, G-. You will be satisfied. And I will accept a free return. Please bid with confidence.
